As the Open University\u2019s Champion for Public Engagement with Research, he works closely with Professor Blackman to strategically oversee engagement opportunities across the university\u2019s research community. He is the Open University\u2019s Champion for Public Engagement with Research, an appointment that allows him to strategically oversee engagement opportunities across the university\u2019s research community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Working with the support of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/about\/teaching-and-learning\/esteem\/supi\/project-team\/diane-ford\" target=\"_blank\">Diane Ford<\/a> (Project Manager), Richard has strategic and operational responsibility for all aspects of the project. He oversees strategic planning and progress against the project objectives, working in partnership with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/about\/teaching-and-learning\/esteem\/engaging-opportunities\/project-team\/andy-squires\" target=\"_blank\">Andy Squires<\/a> (Senior Deputy Headteacher) from the Denbigh School Teaching Alliance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The project team also includes three co-investigators (co-Is) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/about\/teaching-and-learning\/esteem\/supi\/project-team\/elizabeth-whitelegg\" target=\"_blank\">Elizabeth Whitelegg<\/a> (an expert in issues of diversity), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/about\/teaching-and-learning\/esteem\/engaging-opportunities\/project-team\/kris-stutchbury\" target=\"_blank\">Kris Stutchbury<\/a> (an expert in teacher training) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/about\/teaching-and-learning\/esteem\/supi\/project-team\/professor-eileen-scanlon\" target=\"_blank\">Professor Eileen Scanlon<\/a> (an evaluation expert).
